About YGEN
A community around music.
Built in Ukraine.
For the songs that stay with us, and the people behind them. An independent project made by music enthusiasts, for music enthusiasts.
A generation’s soundtrack.
YGEN celebrates the late ’90s and 2000s: pop, rock, house, trance, breakbeat, drum & bass, electronic music and memorable video game soundtracks.
Our selection is made by people. Explore official YouTube videos, track and artist pages, and the stories that connect the music.
More than a playlist.
A song can lead to an artist, a memory, a conversation or another discovery. Ratings, the Top 100 and comments let everyone help shape what comes next.
Something worth building.
Generation Y Community is created and maintained by a small group of volunteers from Ukraine. The project began with a simple idea: build something meaningful that people around the world can enjoy.
Designing interfaces, writing software and carefully curating music became a creative outlet during one of the most difficult periods in our country’s history.
YGEN is an independent project, built during free time for the love of the music that shaped a generation.
