The Fire partnership
Cass and Martin met around Flying Rhino before establishing Fire as a home for their own music and other records they wanted to release. Perception and Opera became important early parts of the partnership’s catalogue.
The album Burning the Candle at Both Ends followed in 2002. It gives the Cass & Slide collaboration a full-length setting, with room to develop ideas beyond the function of one club single.

Spundae Interpretations: Cass also appeared in 2002. The original artist account describes two discs with different emphases, moving from a deeper programme towards harder material. The distinction is useful for hearing selection and pacing as part of a DJ’s musical identity.
