About Aerosoul feat. John Ward
Aerosoul sit in that sweet spot where early-2000s Balearic and progressive house meet the cleaner melodic language that later defined the Silk and Enhanced generation. Their best records are sunlit, emotional and club-minded without losing the warmth that made the original Spanish progressive scene so distinctive.
Balearic warmth, progressive structure
A Spanish duo whose catalogue connects the club-oriented progressive house of the 2000s with the melodic progressive revival of the following decade.
Aerosoul is the Barcelona-based partnership of Ivan Torrent and Joan Fernandez. The project developed around a melodic interpretation of house music: long builds, spacious synth work, Balearic guitar colours and vocal arrangements designed to work as effectively in a club as they do away from one.
The duo first became associated with records including Isla Blanca, Al Despertar and Sometimes. Beatport's artist biography documents international DJ support for those early releases and highlights a David Penn remix of Sometimes, while the duo's remix work also reached Roger Sanchez's Release Yourself parties at Pacha Ibiza.
Time Is By Your Side, featuring John Ward, became one of Aerosoul's defining records. Originally described by Silk as a 2006 underground classic, it was revived in 2013 through Silk Royal with new remixes by Nigel Good and Schodt. The release captured the project's characteristic balance of progressive rhythm, Balearic guitar and an emotional vocal centre.
That 2013 return continued with Strings Theory, including a remix by Marsh. Aerosoul then crossed further into the Enhanced ecosystem through collaborations and remix work, including Dreams Come True with Yoel Lewis and Jenny Mayhem, and the well-circulated Aerosoul remix of Speed Limits & Jaco featuring Joni Fatora's Palm Of Your Hand.
In 2015, Isla Blanca received a new release through Arrival / Silk Music. The package revisited one of the duo's foundational pieces with Aerosoul's own chillout interpretation plus remixes from LTN and Ramon Vincent, underlining how naturally their early material could be reframed for the later melodic-progressive audience.

Essential tracks
A concise route through Aerosoul's progressive, Balearic and melodic catalogue.
A bridge between two progressive eras
Aerosoul's catalogue is relatively compact, but its position is unusually clear. Their early material belongs to the warm, Iberian and Balearic side of progressive house, while their later Silk and Enhanced work arrived just as melodic progressive was becoming a major international strand of electronic music again.
That continuity is what keeps tracks such as Time Is By Your Side, Strings Theory and Isla Blanca useful reference points: they preserve the long-form arrangement, emotional restraint and coastal atmosphere of 2000s progressive house while fitting naturally beside the polished melodic sound of the 2010s.
