The story of Axwell Feat. Max'C
Why we feature this artist
A soul vocal with several lives inside one release
“I Found U” gives Max’C’s singing a central place in Axwell’s house writing. Released through Axtone in 2007, the track combines an immediately communicative vocal with production that can move between a classic, song-led feel and a more sharply rearranged club shape. Its different versions reveal how much character can come from the relationship between one voice and its surroundings.
The Axtone original
The release brought together radio and classic edits, a Classic Mix, Vocal Remode, Remode and instrumental. Those titles describe meaningful differences in emphasis. Some versions make the vocal continuity easier to follow; others pull the arrangement apart and use its recognisable elements to create a different kind of movement.
Max’C supplies a voice with enough weight to remain present through those changes. The singing has the directness of a soul performance, giving the producer material that can carry feeling as well as rhythmic function.
A song that can be rebuilt
The Classic Mix allows the performance to unfold across a longer span, while the Remode approach changes the balance between anticipation and release. The listener can recognise the same musical identity even when the route through it has been altered. That flexibility is part of the original recording’s appeal.
Later revisits, including Andy C’s officially released “Believe Again (I Found U)” in 2025, show the vocal reaching a different rhythmic environment. The lasting point is the performance itself: a strong line can give producers something more durable than a fashionable sound. “I Found U” leaves room for that line to be heard, interrupted and discovered again.
