Why we feature this artist
The clear emotional line in vocal trance
Dee Dee’s “Forever” makes its feeling immediately understandable, then lets the electronic arrangement give that feeling a much larger space. The vocal stays direct while the melody and rhythm keep lifting around it. It is a compact example of the early-2000s meeting between a pop song and trance scale.
The Belgian project
The project brought singer Diana Trippaers together with a Belgian production and writing team including Christophe Chantzis, Erik Vanspauwen and Tommie Kidjemet. “Forever” appeared in 2001, using a restrained opening vocal before the fuller rhythmic and melodic arrangement takes over.
The track’s strength lies in the relationship between its parts. The lyric introduces a private feeling, the repeated harmony holds it in place and the beat gradually turns the same line into a collective release. The extended version makes that change especially clear.
The voices around the hook
Further releases and collaborations continued the Dee Dee identity beyond the first single. The project belongs to a broader Belgian vocal-dance tradition, but the best-known recording keeps an individual character through the grain and timing of the singing.
The original “Forever” is the natural first stop, followed by its alternate mixes. The differences in pacing are worth hearing: a short edit gives the song, while the longer arrangement lets the listener feel why the vocal’s return matters. The strongest moments leave enough room for a simple phrase to carry more than one scale of emotion.
