Envio was the production alias of Ashkan Fardost, a Stockholm-born musician of Persian heritage. His musical background began with keyboards and several years of classical piano training before electronic dance music redirected that foundation toward sequencing, synthesis and club production.
The project emerged internationally in 2003 with “Touched By The Sun,” released through the A State of Trance imprint. Its original mix paired an insistent trance pulse with warm, rising melodic figures, while alternate versions expanded the record into more atmospheric and reflective territory. That balance between propulsion and emotional openness became Envio’s clearest signature.
“Time To Say Goodbye” followed in 2004, extending the same melodic vocabulary through a more bittersweet and cinematic arrangement. “Love Poison” arrived in 2005 with a darker harmonic character, while a Ryan G remix edited by Armin van Buuren reinforced the track’s connection to the wider A State of Trance ecosystem.
In 2006, “For You” became another defining Envio release. The original mix was supported by interpretations from Sunlounger and, later, The Blizzard.
