The story of Funkytown
Why we feature this artist
Funkytown as an unresolved recording credit
Funkytown survives here as the artist label on a recording titled Funky Town. That short pairing does not establish which performer, release or version the original entry represents. The name needs a recording context before it can support a personal or group biography.
One genuine use of the name
Puerto Rican artist Funky’s own biography documents Funkytown as his solo debut album in 2002. That is a real release with a clear artist identity, but an album sharing the word does not by itself identify the retained Funky Town recording.
The surviving catalogue entry
The known record is the existing artist-and-title pairing. Its original master and release attribution remain unestablished, so the archive keeps that limited identification visible. The Funky album history provides a useful point of comparison while leaving the particular recording’s performer open.
