G.R.L.

G.R.L. (an initialism for Girls Rock Life) were an American–Canadian–English girl group, consisting of members Simone Battle, Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen. The group rose to prominence after featuring on Pitbull's single "Wild Wild Love". The song peaked in the top ten in the United Kingdom, Norway, Australia, and reached the top thirty in the United States. It was certified silver, gold and platinum in various regions. Their breakthrough single "Ugly Heart" peaked in the top ten in Australia, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and Sweden. It was preceded by the release of their only extended play G.R.L, and was certified gold by RMNZ. After Battle's death in September 2014, G.R.L. released "Lighthouse" in her honour, and went on a one-year hiatus. The group reformed as a trio in 2016, consisting of Bennett, Slayton, and then-new member Jazzy Mejia, before the four surviving original members briefly reunited in 2020. In 2026, the group were scheduled to reform for a second time until the death of Bennett.
