Why we feature this artist
A spoken hook that keeps finding new corners of the room
Your Mind Is Twisted is a house record organised around the pressure of a repeated phrase. The 2007 collaboration between Greg, Jeroenski and Roog gives the voice a firm rhythmic setting, allowing small changes in the backing to do a great deal of work. Its attraction is cumulative: the longer the idea stays in motion, the more conspicuous each adjustment becomes.
The original has several entrances
The original release package includes a full version, a Darkroom Dub and mixes by Peter Gelderblom and the Cube Guys. Those editions place the same central material in different amounts of light. A short edit makes the hook immediate, while the longer forms give the rhythm more time to establish its authority.
That flexibility suits a track whose main personality comes from the relationship between voice and groove. The phrase does not need a complicated surrounding story. Its repetition creates expectation, and the production can then play with how quickly the listener gets the next familiar return.
Later producers hear the same possibilities
Altra Moda's catalogue revisits the recording through a Siwell remix in 2023 and a Tim Hox remix in 2024. The label also presents the original official video with the three artists' credits intact. The later treatments belong to the record's continuing life rather than a different group taking its place.
Hearing those versions alongside the 2007 material shows how durable a clearly defined club idea can be. The drums can change, the edit can become much shorter and the pressure can be reorganised, yet the vocal still points back to the same distinctive little disturbance in the groove.
