World-N-San: the story around Shine
The name survives here as World San, attached to Shine. The artist's own catalogue and Threshold Recordings supply a much clearer reference: World-N-San's Tit 4 Tat EP, recorded in 1996 and returned to vinyl for its twenty-first anniversary.
A vocal and its backing track
Both the artist and label editions include Shine in vocal and instrumental forms, alongside Tit For Tat and Feel It. That pairing is part of the record's character. The four-minute vocal presents the song, while the instrumental leaves space to follow the arrangement on its own. It also places Shine inside an EP, rather than treating a lone digital title as the whole of an act's history. The spelling on the original artist catalogue is World-N-San.
The session and the re-press
Threshold credits DJ Trevy Trev with production, KutMasta Kurt with engineering, and both with mixing at Threshold Studios in 1996. Its May 2017 anniversary edition used the original stampers and centre labels. The later publication date therefore belongs to the re-press, not to a newly recorded performance. World-N-San's own catalogue also lists Unity EP, City Legend, I Like and Radio Movement, extending the picture beyond this one song. There is no need to invent personal histories to make the record interesting: its versions, studio credits and route back onto vinyl already tell a specific story.
